Hello all, We have been busy bees in the classroom. The students have been preparing for testing both in technology class and in our classroom. We will have our first English Language Arts Test the first week of May. We also had the opportunity to start Junior Achievement this week. The students learned about zoning and the importance of them. They got to create their own city map where they determined what zone their building went in. Awesome activity! We also finished our Fun Run! They all did such an incredible job! I was very proud of each one of them. Way to go Miss Hodgkinson's Puggy Pit Crew. Math: Math: Fractions, fractions, and more fractions...they are continuing and will be continuing. :)
Social Studies: Students this week learned there are five main regions in the United States. They will become experts about one of them. They will work with their region group to research a variety of topics about their region. Writing: We are working on a practice state test writing piece. We will continue to work on this week and begin to release them to independently practice typing their own. Literacy: We have been working on comprehending what we read and answering questions in depth about our book "Because of Winn-Dixie". Students are reflecting on what has been read aloud to them in class as well as learning to write summaries!
