I write this last post with a bit of sorrow and happiness all mixed together. This has been such an incredible year-one that I will never forget. I am happy because these students have grown in so many ways and are very ready for 4th grade. However, I will be sad to say goodbye. I am not sure I am ready to either. These kids have touched my lives in way that no other person could do. Thank you to each of you have played such an integral part in this year. I could not have done it without your help at home as well as your help in our classroom. We also celebrated the end of the year with Field Day. Despite the crazy weather, we still had fun! Students got to go from a few different rooms in the school to participate in all of the activities. In math, we finished up the year learning about graphs. We learned to create graphs as well as read them. The last day of math students created a pictograph made out of shoes. Students had to label the graph and then put the shoes on the graph accordingly. The challenge: Everyone had to have a job. They succeeded! I wish you all a summer full of fun and look forward to seeing them around Hiteon next year. I would give anything to have them all in 3rd grade again. Please, please feel free to contact me this summer! I would love to know when you are going to the park or anywhere around the community to pop on over and say hello to all those soon to be 4th graders. I will miss my kiddos dearly. Thanks for sharing them with me :) I suppose it is not a goodbye but a see you later. Warmly, Kait Hodgkinson
