Hello, Now that we are nearly a month into school and we are getting deeper into multiplication, it is important to get your students practicing those multiplication math facts. Students these days love anything relating to technology, so I found a website that lists 2o different apps that can be downloaded on an iPad to help your child practice multiplication. Click on the link below to begin reading about the different apps. They need to have these memorized. If your child memorizes their facts, math from here on out with be much easier for them. It is one of the best math skills your child can learn this year. Start small and add more and more facts each week. Memorizing division facts should not be far behind either. Two extremely important concepts they should know.
I am trying my best to get the volunteer schedule finished and organized because I would love to have all your help. Hang tight! I should have it finish by next week. Speaking of schedules...I made a mistake on last week's schedule and said the students had technology on Friday rather than library. The world just about ended in Miss Hodgkinson's room. They panicked because some did not have their library books to turn in. Students can bring their books on Monday (Sept. 28th) and check out new ones. :) Just as a head's up, I will be out of the classroom on Tuesday attending a third grade meeting. Students are aware I will be gone but we will be discussing classroom expectations when a guest teacher is in our classroom. I feel like a parent when they leave their baby for the first time...I would much rather be with the students than stuck in a meeting all day. But I am confident they will do well! A couple reminders: students should be practicing their spelling words each day to help with their test on Friday. Many of them nailed their spelling words this week! Well done! :) And secondly, don't forget to sign their reading log Thursday night!! I should be sending home their assessment folders on Thursday, so you can get a glimpse of how they are doing in school. Please make sure to send those assessments back! I would like them for their portfolio! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend despite both Oregon football team losses :(
